 ICC Defeats Red Devils

Independence, KS-   The Independence Pirates finished the regular season in fine form with a 74-56 victory over the Allen County Red Devils.  With the win, ICC improves to 25-5 and 16-2 in conference play. 

In a very physical contest, ICC started the game off slowly.  After an assortment of turnovers, ICC finally settled down.  ICC took a 32-25 lead into halftime.

In the second half, it was all ICC.  ICC outscored the Pirates 42-31 in the final twenty minutes.  Allen lost control in the second half, and were tagged for two technical fouls. 

ICC was led in scoring by Antonio Hanson who had 33 points and buried 6 three point baskets.  No other Pirate reached double-figures.  James Bush led the team with 12 rebounds.  Hanson, Daniel Rowe, and Bush each had 3 steals.

ICC has the #2 seed in the upcoming Region VI tournament.  ICC will face the Pratt Community College Beavers Wednesday at 8 pm.
