Five Pirates Score Double Figures in Win
James Bush and Mekan Moss led the charge early for the Pirates, utilizing their speed and rebounding ability to take an early lead. By the middle of the half though, the Greyhounds started to ride the back of Arsenio Williams, who had a game-high 34 points. Fort Scott went to Williams possession after possession to get them back in the game. With 5 seconds remaining in the half and the score tied 33-33, Michael Craion took a shot to try and take a lead before half. His shot was short, but Chris Tyler was there to put in the rebound as time expired to give the Pirates some momentum going into the second half.
ICC jumped out on the Greyhounds in the early going of the second half. The bench played a big role with starters James Bush and Mekan Moss in foul trouble. Chris Tyler and Jaron Egbe played a big part in helping the Pirates maintain their lead. With 2 minutes to go in the game, Michael Craion blocked a shot attempt by the Greyhounds. Donald Rowe ran the ball down and passed to his brother Daniel Rowe who finished the play with an empathetic dunk. That sealed the deal for the Pirates for a 82-71 victory.
Antonio Hanson led the way with 19 points. Daniel Rowe added 16 points. Michael Craion and James Bush both had 10 points. Donald Rowe rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points. Craion also led the team with 11 rebounds, eight of them came on the offensive end. Craion also added three blocks. Daniel Rowe led the way with 4 steals and Hanson added 5 assists in the winning effort.
ICC is back at home for a four game home-stand. The Pirates will face the KCK Blue Devils on Wednesday, January 16th at 8 pm.
