When former Independence Community College Track and Field coach Nate Davis decided to follow his dream and take another job in Illinois as an assistant coach, the Pirate's track team was left without a leader.

Athletes on the team were thinking about giving up and take their talents elsewhere.

The more questions they asked about a new coach, the more eyes would turn the other way.

However, Randall Bentley was not prepared to let a team full of talent and a program that has been growing for the past two years go down without  trying.
