Lady Pirate Basketball
Lady Pirates Comeback Effort
Falls Short
Eleven points is all the ICC women’s basketball team could muster in the first
half Friday night at Hutchinson Community College. The Lady Pirates did rally in
the second half to tie the score at 37-37 with over three minutes to play.
However they just could not ever get over the hump and fell 50-42 to the Lady
Blue Dragons. "It doesn't take a genius to figure out what went wrong tonight."
said ICC Head Coach Tony Turner. "We just could not shoot the ball tonight. That
being said, if we would have began the game with the same intensity and urgency
we played with after halftime we would have been fine."
Ashley Gladden led Independence
in scoring once again with 12 points. Becca Holman added 11 including 3 3-point
baskets. Sophomore Jolene Tamboue also grabbed 13 rebounds for the Lady Pirates.
The Lady Pirates complete the two game Grand
Prairie Hotel Classic tomorrow as they take on Cloud County Community College at
1:30pm.
