ICC Wins Conference Opener
The Independence women's basketball began conference play in impressive fashion.
Indy came away with a 67-64 victory over #5 (D2) Johnson County. "It's nice to
get off to a good start in the conference." said Lady Pirate Coach Tony Turner.
"This was a big win for us today, but we still have a ways to go if we are going
to achieve the high goals we have set for ourselves." This was ICC's first game
in over a month, but showed very little signs of having any "ring rust".
Three Lady Pirates found their way to double-digit scoring games. They were led
by Chelsea Trimble's 15 points. Rhea Codio and Morgan Clark also contributed 10
points each.
The Lady Pirates are back in action Wednesday, January 9 at 5pm in Parsons, KS
as they take on the Lady Cardinals of Labette Community College.
