Lady Pirates Sweep Lady Mountaineers

The Independence women's basketball team traveled to Wilburton, OK Tuesday night for a rematch with Eastern Oklahoma State College. The results were not much different than the first matchup. The Lady Pirates cruised to a 75-46 victory behind 15 points from Sophomore Ashley Gladden. Indy took a 40-26 lead into halftime and never looked back. "It's always tough to win on the road." said Head Coach Tony Turner. "This was a tough trip to make. The drive is pretty long and the Thanksgiving break starts tomorrow so you have to make sure basketball is still the number one priority. And I think we did a pretty good job of that."

ICC returns to action this weekend for the Community State Bank Thanksgiving Classic in Coffeyville, KS. The Lady Pirates take on Connors State on Friday, Nov. 23 at 5pm and Arkansas-Fort Smith on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 5pm.
